HEA – Happily Ever After

I’m doing a small poll.

I’d like to know if you prefer reading a book with a happy ending.

If you could leave your yes or no vote in the comment section, I’d appreciate it.

Sorry to be noncommittal, but I prefer endings that feel true for the story. Sometimes endings aren’t happy or sad – they’re just appropriate, you know? I do like to feel like everything’s okay, but I like books that make me think. The only kind of ending I hate is where you feel like someone tacked on some fake happy ending at the end – or where you’re sitting there without some kind of closure 😉

Gratuitous happy endings do not make for good reading. If the writing flows to that place then that’s okay; but if not, then I wouldn’t like it either.
      Thanks for commenting.

Patti – It’s wonderful to have a happy ending but unfortunately real life doesn’t play out that way and if our characters have had a complex life, then in order to be true to our readers. we must give them what she is due.
