My Interview with Author Mary Schmidt for Passing Through Brandiss

Today I’m glad to present Patricia Yager Delagrange whose book Passing Through Brandiss I will post my review in the next two weeks. My blogsite is:  https://whenangelsfly.wordpress.com/2016/07/18/author-interview-with-patricia-yager-delagrange/ But the interview first, hello Patricia, and welcome to my blog, please tell my readers, how did you come to writing? In 2009, my daughter was 11 years old and she told me that a friend at school asked why her mom didn’t have a job. I had been a stay-at-home mom since 1993. After putting a lid on my irritation that being a mom wasn’t considered a “job”, I paused and thought a bit. I did have more time, since my two kids were in school most of the day. So I went to the Apple store and bought a MacBook and wrote my first novel. How did you come up with your stories? All my stories involve a woman who must

SUMMER IS HERE !!!

And summer means more riding, right? That’s where the big guy above fits in. Most people know I’m in love with my Friesian horse, Maximus. But I just had to post another (yes, another) photo of him. And, of course I have a tattoo of him on my forearm. When I’m around him, all I can do is smile. He’s so cute and so sweet.  I’m lucky to have him in my life. HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE !!! Share this:

Curry Versus LeBron? That’s Not What It’s About

You don’t have to be an NBA basketball fan to have heard about the Golden State Warriors. In the last several years they’ve become the “comeback kids”. When it looks as if they might lose a game by a few points, out steps Steph Curry and Klay Thompson (the Smash Brothers) and the Warriors win the game. On Memorial Day the Warriors won the Western Conference Finals. Tonight marks the first game (out of a possible seven games that could be played) that they’ll face the Eastern Conference Finalists – the Cleveland Cavaliers – featuring LeBron James. I became a basketball fan in 2013 when my son began his high school basketball career. I didn’t know anything about basketball. I just knew it was faster than baseball and less deadly than football. That’s Dylan in the picture with the number 12 on his shirt – in the air, no less.

GRADUATION DAY

On June 17th my little girl will graduate from high school. So cliche, but where the heck did the time go? It seems like about ten years ago that we brought her home from the hospital. How is it that she’s all of a sudden almost 18 years old and leaving her childhood behind? A new and exciting life awaits her and she knows it. She can take time off. Or she can work to earn money. Or she can save to buy a car. Or she can enter barbering school. Or she can travel. Or she can move out and live on her own. I have to admit, I am not ready for any of these. The routine of making her breakfast, fixing her lunch, driving her to school, greeting her when she comes home from school – all of that is about to change. And I am

Do You Have A Favorite City or Town in California?

There are two settings for my novel Passing Through Brandiss which comes out on May 20th. Nine days away, but who’s counting, right? In the beginning of the book, Annie and her husband live in Sausalito, California. The rest of the book is set in the fictional town of Brandiss, California, located near Santa Barbara. I lived in Sausalito when I was younger and resided in Santa Barbara for eight years while getting my B.A. in Spanish then I worked there for several years afterward on the U.C. campus. I love both Sausalito and Santa Barbara for their small-town atmosphere and beauty. Do you have a town or city in California that you love to visit and, if so, why? Share this:

Passing Through Brandiss – Book Trailer

Passing Through Brandiss comes out on May 20th. After the tragic loss of her husband, Annie and her young son Rafe search for a new life full of meaning and hope. Fate nudges Annie into the arms of a man whose wife disappeared with his child years ago. Annie’s life spins out of control when first the pregnant teenager she hires to help her with her garden asks Annie to adopt her baby and shortly afterwards the long-lost wife of the man Annie loves reappears. Riddled with grief and heartache, the experiences demonstrate how, even in the face of overwhelming sorrow, opening her heart and home to those most in need of love has reaped unexpected joy for Annie and her son. Here’s the one-minute book trailer.
